Jody's lifelong interest in horses and horse showing took a great leap forward when she began riding with Pam Baker in the late 1980's. "When I was a teenager, my friends and I would go to the Devon Horse Show and I would dream of competing there." "Of course, at that time I didn't have the horse or the knowledge or the experience." After college Jody began to train with Pam and feels that it was one of the best decisions she has ever made. "Under Pam's guidance I have moved from the Adult Amateur to the Amateur Owner Hunter Division and I have achieved the dream of my young life...of competing successfully at Devon and the Fall indoor shows." "Pam has an uncanny ability to match horses and riders - not only from a skill and talent perspective." "She also considers that important and evasive nuance of matching the human and the equine personality." "Through her I had the wonderful Adult Amateur horse, Turning Point." "I then graduated to the great String of Pearls for the Amateur Owner division." "String of Pearls is retired now; but Debonair will continue in her place in the Amateur Owner division, while Indulgence starts his show career in the Pre-Green Hunter division in 2006." "For many of the years that I have ridden and shown with Pam, I lived in other parts of the country and had to fly-in to ride and show." "In 2001, my husband and I decided to move to Virginia in order to be closer to Pam and the horses." "Now, I can ride several times a week." "There is nothing more satisfying to me than going to Hillcrest and having an early morning flat lesson with Pam." "She never gives up on a problem and she has a true passion for the horses." "Pam helps all of us improve our riding so much." Jody manages her consulting firm, RedStones, and her real estate investment company, Paramount Properties, from a virtual office. She can frequently be seen at horse shows or at Hillcrest working on her laptop - or holding a meeting via conference call.
