I have been riding since I was two years old. I first started riding on a pony named "Misty Morning" that my mother had ridden when she was a little girl. Of course, by the time I started riding her, she was really ancient and loved to take the bit and run. I showed her in short stirrup and leadline and joined the Pony Club. Since my Mom's pony was "miss point and run" I got another pony from Oatland Stables named "Spring Blossom". While in Pony Club at age seven I won D2 Pony Clubber in combined training and overall reserve champion at the dressage team championships. My Mom wanted me to upgrade, so we found my pony "Get It Get It Got It". She was a brat at first becasue she had been used for Pony Club games. We won 14 grand champions and qualified for and competed in the 2000 AHSA pony finals. After I outgrew "Get It", I rode in the medium hunter on "Knight Time", aka Buddy, in the MHSA and VHSA medal finals as well as numerous other shows that season. I rode "Non-Parel" for Katie Huber. We competed at many shows and won reserve champion of large ponies at Local Day and then on Washington in October. I went through a period of time when we were looking for the perfect horse. We looked at many horses and vetted 6 of them that all failed to pass the vet. I ended up with a young TB, but he did not turn out to be a perfect show hunter. I got back into showing again when I rode with Katie Huber and qualified for Washington out of 65 other riders. After competing at Washington in the local children's hunter class, I was officially bitten by the show bug again. I wanted more than ever to compete again. My mother decided to "go for it" and we found my dream horse, "In The Mood". I am thankful for all that I have learned over the years from the different trainers that I have ridden with. However, I have finally found the trainer of my dreams in Pam Baker. I remember the day we pulled into the lane of her farm for the very first time. I thought that I must be dreaming - I couldn't believe that I would actually be riding with the legendary Pam Baker. But I am; and my dream has come true. After a season of showing "In The Mood", aka "Miles", in the children's hunter division, I am now successfully showing "Miles" in the Adult Amateur Owner division. I hope to continue to learn from Pam for many years to come. I thank my Mom and Pam Baker for everything they do for me. God Bless Hillcrest Farms and Pam Baker.
