Baxter Kennedy (Assistant / Professional Baxter C. Kennedy: At age twenty-two she is a hard working student rider. Her days at Hillcrest start early and she typically rides at least five horses before lunch. Baxter’s early training as an equestrian began with Chris Wynne and Joannie Marsh at Breckenridge Manor in Virginia Beach. With their help and guidance she bought and trained "Trademark", AKA Calvin, a six-year-old quarter-horse/thoroughbred. The duo successfully competed in VBHSA and VHSA in the children’s hunter division until Baxter left for college in 2001. As much as she enjoyed college, she soon realized that her dream of becoming a professional rider could only be realized through hard work and experience. "My dream got a boost when I was offered the opportunity to ride with Pam Baker. I feel lucky to be able to hone my riding and horsemanship with one of the truly great trainers." |
